Always used, this season, to playing during the week in Europe, Atalanta and Bologna meet at the Gewiss Stadium on Tuesday but for the Coppa Italia Quarter Finals. The two teams arrive, in fact, from the last day of the Champions League that gave them two prestigious away draws against, respectively, Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon and from the championship round; a bit indigestible for the Nerazzurri stopped at home by Torino, winner and without worries for the Rossoblù who easily overcame Como. The appointment is, for both teams, an opportunity to exploit to try to win the trophy, remembering how Atalanta, last year, came very close, having lost only in the final against Juventus and how Bologna, was able to eliminate Inter from the competition. The one-off match on the Goddess' pitch clearly shifts the burden of qualification onto Atalanta, for whom failure to reach the semi-final would objectively be a disappointment, but Bologna, in form and coming off a good end to the Champions League, will also have to try, also looking at the precedents against Goddess, which in the last 4 matches have seen 3 wins for Bologna and 1 draw.
Atalanta arrives at these Quarter Finals after having won overwhelmingly in the previous round against Cesena (6-1). The last 2 matches of the Dea were instead two draws against Torino in Serie A and Barcelona in the Champions League which, although with different tones, distance Atalanta a little from the habit of success: in the last 9 matches played, the Nerazzurri have won only 2 times against Sturm Graz and Como.
Always prolific, however, the attack and offensive maneuver of Atalanta who closed the Champions League with the third attack of the competition and who, in the last 6 matches, scored 13 goals.
Bologna closed the Champions League with the victory against Dortmund and the draw against Sporting Lisbon and, also in the championship, got back on track with the clear victory against Como (2-0).
Like Atalanta, Bologna also achieved a large victory in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 with a 4-0 win over Monza. For the rossoblù, the seasonal defeats have almost all come between October and November. From December until now, Bologna has lost 1 time in the last 12 games.
Atalanta has always struggled against Bologna in recent seasons and, between the two teams, it is the one with the most favorable odds but also the one that has won the least recently. However, for the Goddess, goals are never lacking and, against a Bologna that is also on the ball, and that has always held up in recent matches, even in very difficult ones, the BetMines Algorithm prediction is fully divided between a match with more than two total goals and a maximum of two total goals. The fact that it is a knockout match that, with a possible draw, would send the match to penalties perhaps plays in favor of the latter hypothesis but, for BetMines it is 50% - 50%.
Atalanta (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Toloi, Hien, Djimsiti; Palestra, De Roon, Ederson, Zappacosta; De Ketelaere, Brescianini; Maldini. Coach: Gasperini.
Bologna (4-2-3-1): Ravaglia; Holm, Beukema, Lucumì, Miranda; Freuler, Moro; Ndoye, Odgaard, Dominguez; Castro. Coach: Italiano.
