Two teams that want to pick up where they left off, that is, with two clear and heavy wins (one each) but, evidently, both won't be able to do so because they will be playing in a direct clash: Borussia Monchengladbach and Leipzig will face each other on Saturday in the Bundesliga to tell us who, between the two, has a better chance of threatening the two places (third and fourth) occupied by Mainz and Frankfurt, two places that are certainly not just any but crucial because they are worth the next Champions League 2025/2026. Both teams, therefore, won in the last round of the Bundesliga with important victories; it is difficult to establish which had the greater weight. Borussia Monchengladbach won away against Bremen who the previous day had just defeated none other than Bayer Leverkusen while Leipzig beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0, this year in the Bundesliga a distant relative of the one we know but still Borussia Dortmund. The two victories are therefore worth continuing to dream: the race is open and this Borussia – Park match will be a clash that, to all intents and purposes, will be worth double, not just formally.
In this phase of the Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach is doing much better away from home than at home and this, therefore, may not be good news in view of Saturday: 1 point in the last 3 games at Borussia Park "against" 4 wins in the last 4 away games.
Beyond the home advantage, the certainty is that Werner's team draws very little: only 4 draws in 26 league games where they are almost balanced, goals scored and goals conceded (43 and 40).
Leipzig is fifth in the league, 3 points behind fourth-placed Frankfurt.
Only 1 defeat in the last 8 games of the season is already a number that speaks of an improving team but what is most convincing about Rose's men in this last period is the defensive phase: in these recent 8 games, in fact, Leipzig has not conceded a goal 6 times!
In the last 4 away league games, for Leipzig, there have been 4 draws.
On one side there is Borussia Monchengladbach who, at home, is struggling a lot lately, on the other a Leipzig who, away, often draws and who in general gives a feeling of solidity. In this match that remains complicated for both teams, therefore, the balance reigns but the feeling is that, especially after the recent successes, both teams will try to get three points that would be fundamental. Borussia Monchengladbach scores and concedes goals, is imperfect but alive and dangerous, with an unleashed Plea and fresh from a hat-trick; Leipzig has a top-level offensive potential: for the BetMines prediction algorithm, the most likely event is to see both teams score.
Borussia Monchengladbach (4-2-3-1): Omlin; Scally, Netz, Itakura, Elvedi; Sander, Weigl; Ngoumou, Plea, Hack; Friedrich. Coach: Seoane.
Leipzig (3-5-2): Gulacsi; Geertruida, Orban, Bitshiabu; Baku, Baumgartner, Haidara, Simons, Raum; Openda, Sesko. Coach: Rose.
