One week after the first leg, Drita and FC Copenhagen meet again at the Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri in Pristina for the return leg of the second qualifying round of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League. The Danish side claimed the first round with a 2-0 home win, thanks to two penalties converted by Magnus Mattson in the 69th and 76th minute—both just minutes after he stepped onto the pitch. This two-goal advantage gives Copenhagen a solid platform to build on as they aim to reach the third qualifying round, needing only to avoid losing by more than one goal to advance. That said, coach Jacob Neestrup’s side—coming off three consecutive wins across league and Champions League qualifiers—will not be taking risks and will look to seal qualification with another win. FC Copenhagen have significant experience in European competitions, as evidenced by their appearance in the final stages of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa Conference League, where they were eliminated in the Round of 16 by eventual champions Chelsea. On the other hand, Drita are chasing a historic milestone: their first-ever appearance in a major European competition. The Kosovan champions have never advanced beyond the first qualifying round of the Champions League (in 2018/19 and 2020/21) but after eliminating Luxembourg’s champions Differdange, they now dream of pulling off another upset. With the home crowd in Pristina behind them, Drita will try to make the most of the atmosphere, though a comeback would be an incredible feat given the technical and experience gap between the two teams.
With the 2024/25 domestic season concluded, Drita have played three Champions League qualification matches so far, thanks to their Kosovan league title secured last May. Their journey started with a 1-0 home win against Differdange, followed by a 3-2 away victory in Luxembourg. However, the third match ended in a 2-0 defeat away to FC Copenhagen, with Drita managing just one shot on target.
Drita boast a strong home record. Last season, they recorded 16 wins, one draw, and only one loss in 18 home league matches. They conceded just 9 goals at home, highlighting their compact and organized defense. Offensively, they were prolific, averaging 2.22 goals per home match.
FC Copenhagen have kicked off their new season in perfect fashion with three straight wins across league and Champions League qualifiers. Their defense has been a standout so far, with back-to-back clean sheets against Drita and Vejle. Offensively, they have been sharp as well, scoring at least two goals in each of their matches.
Last season, the Danish Lions had mixed results on the road in the domestic league, with eight wins, four draws, and four losses. However, they are currently riding a streak of five consecutive away victories, including three clean sheets and an impressive average of 2.8 goals scored per game.
FC Copenhagen are clear favorites to win again in the second leg and return from Kosovo with another convincing victory. The BetMines algorithm gives the visitors a 54% win probability, while Drita’s chances are set at just 22%.
There are multiple reasons why the prediction leans heavily toward FC Copenhagen: the Danish side are more accustomed to high-stakes international fixtures, having reached the Round of 16 in the Europa Conference League last season.
Additionally, Neestrup's squad is technically superior, featuring experienced players like Thomas Delaney (formerly of Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla), Mohamed Elyounoussi, and striker Andreas Cornelius, who also had a stint in Serie A with Parma.
Considering Drita's strong home scoring record and their need to attack in an attempt to overturn the two-goal deficit, there’s a good chance that both teams will find the net.
