Predictions
Top Leagues
Mar 4, 2025
The latest results in their respective leagues, perhaps, would not make you think so and maybe even the names of the teams themselves but, between Fenerbahce and Glasgow Rangers, the Turkish team is the one that snatched the pass for the Playoffs in extremis, while the Scottish is the one that managed to qualify directly for the Round of 16 by virtue of eighth place in the single group. And yet, the Rangers are struggling a lot in the league, they are losing more and more contact with Celtic and had won only one of the last three played in the European group while Mourinho's team is doing well, is trying to catch up with Galatasaray at the top of the Superlig and got rid of Anderlecht with great ease in the playoff round. Having said that, there are also points in favor of Rangers who, beyond the home conception on the Scottish teams, went to win on complicated pitches such as those of Nice and Malmo and stopped Tottenham and almost stopped Manchester United. This means that Clement's team has the technique and experience to make themselves respected and that for Fenerbahce it will not be a foregone conclusion, even though the odds for En Nesyri and his teammates are very favourable.
Let's start with Youssef En Nesyri, one of the strikers currently in the best form in all of Europe, if not the best: the Moroccan striker has scored 17 goals in the calendar year 2025 alone.
Also and above all thanks to him, Fenerbahce's record in the 16 matches played in 2025 is 12 wins and 4 draws.
More generally, Mourinho's team is unbeaten in 18 games and has won the last 6 played at home: numbers, certainly, very important.
In the last match played, Rangers lost in the Premiership against Motherwell 1-2, a defeat that adds to the one three rounds ago against St. Mirren and which certifies the difficult moment of the Scots, second in the championship at -16 from Celtic.
Clement's team, however, in the Europa League group, however, finished in eighth place, with 4 wins, 2 draws and only 2 defeats, scoring 16 goals, therefore 2 per game.
Also watch out for the Rangers away: 3 consecutive wins away from home.
If we only looked at the 2025 of Mourinho's team, the idea on the match would veer towards the Turkish victory but also analyzing the Rangers' away results and giving them credit for what they did in the group, the Scots would also have good chances. It therefore seems safer to somehow combine these two factors "betting" on the scoring streak and home enthusiasm combined with the excellent things that Rangers have done so far, with less pressure perhaps, away from Ibrox Stadium: the BetMines algorithm prediction in fact, leans towards a match where both teams will score.
Fenerbahce (3-4-1-2): Egribayat; Muldur, Skriniar, Soyuncu; Akcicek, Amrabat, Szymanski, Kostic; Tadic; En Nesyri, Dzeko. Coach: Mourinho.
Rangers (4-4-2): Butland; Yilmaz, Tavernier, Propper, Jefte; Cerny, Raskin, Diomande, Bajrami; Dessers, Igamane. Coach: Clement.
