Compared to the positions in the standings that see Fiorentina in sixth place and Torino in twelfth, the direct clash on Sunday that at 12.30 will see Viola and Granata face off at the Franchi in a noble classic of our championship, is much more burning. The standings, taken in a static way, can't say that the Viola are the team that, in terms of points scored, has been the worst of all in the last month just as, for Torino (for which, however, unlike Fiorentina, the position in the standings is not exactly exciting) there is no immediate need for a victory to raise morale and ambitions. Thus, on this eve that announces more tension than enthusiasm, the two teams will be awaited at least by an important test of character. Torino undoubtedly has more lineups troubles than Fiorentina, who will essentially be able to count on all their certainties, Moise Kean (match winner in the first leg) first and foremost with the possible addition of the new signing Folorunsho, while Vanoli, in fact, will perhaps have more forced choices but also a slightly more solid base which is the one deriving from the derby drawn in a comeback in the last round against Juventus.
1 point in the last 5 days of the championship is the truly disastrous cross-section for Fiorentina who, until mid-December, was attached to the top positions, sparkling and convincing. The sixth position in the standings, in itself, is still good, and is the result of 9 wins, 5 draws and 5 defeats.
The victory in the championship has been missing since December 8th against Cagliari. The Viola attack has scored 32 goals in 20 matches and more than a third of the goals (11) were scored by Moise Kean.
Torino restarts from the 1-1 draw in the derby against Juventus, a draw that is not bad in itself even if it does not interrupt the streak without victories in the derby that exceeds 10 years and does not add the victory in the championship that Torino needs because in the last 11 of Serie A, the Granata have won only 1 time.
Analyzing defense and attack, the derby also substantially confirmed the good numbers of the defense and the offensive gaps (in fact Vlasic, a midfielder, scored) which for Toro translates into 20 goals in 20 games which place the Granata as the fourteenth attack in the championship.
It is not two teams that are doing very well that are facing each other, but two teams that understand the importance of the match and the possibility of winning it. For this reason, despite the difficulties, we can expect a courageous and enterprising match from Fiorentina and Torino and, for this reason, even if by very little, the BetMines prediction favors the chance that the match will have more than 2 total goals.
