On Monday, November 24, at the MAPEI Stadium, Sassuolo host Pisa in the final fixture closing Matchday 12 of Serie A. Two newly promoted sides face off after very different starts to the season. The Neroverdi have been a pleasant surprise: with 16 points they sit eighth in the table, just three points from the European spots and with a reassuring nine-point cushion above the relegation zone. Their convincing 3-0 win away at Atalanta before the break further boosted the confidence of Grosso’s squad, increasingly on track for a comfortable survival. Pisa, on the other hand, arrive at the MAPEI with their morale finally improving: the win over Cremonese, their first of the season, allowed the Tuscan side to move temporarily out of the relegation zone, although their slim two-point advantage over 18th place leaves no room for error. Gilardino’s team is therefore looking for an important result to widen the gap from their rivals and strengthen their chances of staying in the top flight they earned only a few months ago.
Sassuolo return from the international break with inconsistent form: in their last five matches they have collected two wins, two defeats and one draw. However, before the break the Neroverdi showed very encouraging signs thanks to the emphatic 3-0 victory at Atalanta, a result that pushed them up to eighth with 16 points from 5 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses.
Offensively, the Emilia-based team have been fairly effective, averaging 1.27 goals per game. In recent matches against Cagliari, Genoa, and Atalanta, their output has increased to two goals per match on average, inspired by an outstanding Domenico Berardi, who contributed three goals and one assist.
Defensively, Grosso’s side is showing solid structure: they have conceded just over one goal on average (1.09 per match) and have recorded three clean sheets in their last six games—a sign of growing stability that could ensure a stress-free survival.
Their main weakness remains their home form: at the MAPEI Stadium Sassuolo have lost their last two matches against Genoa and Roma, and more generally have collected three defeats and two wins in five home fixtures in this 2025/26 Serie A season.
Pisa approach this match in decent form, unbeaten in their last five games, with four draws and one win. In their most recent outing on November 7, they claimed their first league victory by beating Cremonese 1-0 thanks to Touré’s first goal of the season. This result lifted the Nerazzurri to 16th place with 9 points, coming from 1 win, 6 draws and 4 losses.
Going forward, the Tuscan side remain one of the least prolific attacks in Serie A, with only 8 goals in 11 matches (0.73 goals per game). The trend, however, is slightly improving: five of their eight total goals have come in the last four fixtures.
Their defensive performance is more reassuring. Alberto Gilardino’s team have kept four clean sheets in their last seven matches and concede an average of 1.27 goals per game—a relatively solid figure among the sides fighting for survival.
Away form, however, remains a concern. Pisa come into this match after two consecutive away draws, both 2-2 against AC Milan and Torino, but they have yet to win on the road this season. Their away record reads three draws and two defeats, with an average of 1.4 goals scored and 2.4 conceded per match away from the Arena Garibaldi.
Sassuolo start as clear favourites against Pisa, benefiting from home advantage and overall better form. Historical home results also support the Neroverdi: in the last two meetings at the MAPEI Stadium, Sassuolo won both, including the 1-0 victory last March in Serie B.
The first prediction suggested by BetMines is therefore the home win (1), estimated by the algorithm at 47% probability, while Pisa are given a 26% chance.
As for goals, this match could feature fewer than three total goals. Sassuolo have scored an average of one goal per game in their first five home matches, while seven of Pisa’s eleven fixtures so far have ended with under 2.5 total goals.
For this reason, BetMines also recommends Under 2.5 as the second option, rated with a 55% probability.
