After the midweek round, Udinese and Atalanta return to action on Saturday, November 1, at the Dacia Arena in the early kickoff that opens Matchday 10 of the Italian Serie A. After nine rounds, the two sides sit 10th and 9th respectively, separated by just one point. This match could reveal a lot about both teams’ ambitions, as they are only a few points away from European qualification. The hosts, with only one win in their last five Serie A matches, need a victory to stay in contention for a European spot — something Udinese hasn’t achieved since the 2012/13 season. The visitors, the only unbeaten team left in Serie A, are chasing a win they haven’t found since Matchday 4. A victory for Juric’s men would not only end their streak of draws but also keep them in the race for Europe — a goal consistently achieved during the Gasperini era, now Roma’s head coach. Expect an intense, hard-fought battle between two energetic teams, with Atalanta slightly more in need of the three points.
In the midweek match on October 29, Udinese suffered their third league defeat, losing 3-1 away to Juventus. Despite the heavy loss, Zaniolo’s goal and Okoye’s numerous saves offered some positives, ending a run of three unbeaten games (two draws and one win).
In their last five matches, Kosta Runjaic’s men have recorded one win, two draws, and two defeats, averaging 1.4 goals scored and 2 conceded per game. Udinese have scored and conceded in all five, showing attacking consistency but defensive fragility.
In Serie A, the Bianconeri sit mid-table with 12 points from three wins, three draws, and three defeats, scoring 11 and conceding 15 (the joint-worst defense along with Fiorentina). At home, they’ve lost only once in six matches across all competitions and are unbeaten in their last three (two wins and one draw).
Atalanta come into this fixture after five consecutive draws in all competitions, the latest a 1-1 against AC Milan at the New Balance Arena on October 28. Despite another missed opportunity, Ademola Lookman ended his 169-day goal drought.
Across their last five games, all ending in draws, Atalanta have scored and conceded just three goals. While defensively solid, their offensive output remains concerning. The Nerazzurri have created plenty of chances but struggled to convert them.
The string of draws has affected their standing: Atalanta are mid-table with 13 points from two wins and seven draws. Away from home, they’ve played five matches so far — one win, three draws, and one loss. Their recent away form includes a 0-3 win at Torino followed by 1-1 draws against Juventus and Cremonese.
Despite a run of five consecutive draws, BetMines’ prediction favors Atalanta (48%) to win the Serie A Matchday 10 clash against Udinese (26%).
Atalanta have an excellent record against Udinese, remaining unbeaten in their last fifteen encounters, with nine wins and six draws. Udinese’s last victory dates back to the 2017/18 season.
Although Atalanta are clear favorites, this should still be a close and balanced game. The visitors are expected to control play thanks to their superior overall quality, while Udinese will rely on physicality and counterattacks.
Atalanta’s defense looks much more solid than in previous seasons, making it difficult for Udinese to create chances despite Zaniolo’s strong form after scoring against Juventus and facing his former team.
On the other hand, Atalanta’s attack has been less sharp both home and away, suggesting a low-scoring contest. For this reason, BetMines tips the Under 2.5 goals bet.
UDINESE (3-5-2): Okoye; Goglichidze, Kabasele, Solet; Zanoli, Ekkelenkamp, Karlstrom, Atta, Kamara; Zaniolo, Bayo. Coach: Runjaic
ATALANTA (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Kossonou, Djimsiti, Ahanor; Bellanova, Ederson, Pasalic, Zalewski; Samardzic, Sulemana; Krstovic. Coach: Juric
