Venezia and Bologna resume their journey from Penzo towards two diametrically opposed objectives, difficult to achieve but still possible: respectively, safety and qualification for the next Champions League. Venezia is now used to hosting opponents who aim for the top European competition or in any case, high-ranking big teams; in the last five home games, Inter, Roma, Lazio and Napoli have passed through the Lagoon and now it will be Bologna's turn. In the four aforementioned matches, Venezia has never won but has always performed well, proving to be a tough, solid team, perhaps penalized by the current ranking which, without victories, is struggling to dislodge the orange-black-greens from a difficult-to-sustain penultimate place. In front of them, there will be a Bologna excited by the latest very large success against Lazio (5-0) which has told everyone that the rossoblù are, still, very serious candidates for fourth place so much so that, fourth place is the one they currently occupy. Vincenzo Italiano's team, especially at home, is confirming its brilliance and is still one of the most beautiful teams in this championship, but it will be awaited, from now until the end, by a terrible schedule. Both teams, in view of the challenge, will not have any particular injuries but, rather, excellent suspensions, one for each side: Bologna, which in attack is recovering Orsolini and Odgaard with goals and performances, will not have Castro, while Venezia will be forced to give up a midfield linchpin, namely Hans Nicolussi Caviglia: important shortcomings that could certainly be felt.
Venezia's situation is delicate: second to last place, 5 points from safety. However, Eusebio Di Francesco's team is coming off 4 consecutive draws, therefore it is certainly alive and above all solid: only 4 goals conceded in the last 6 league games.
What Venezia evidently lacks is the ability to take advantage of opportunities or shots to win games: in the league, so far, Venezia has won only 3 of the 29 games played.
Returning to the defense, withonly 15 goals conceded in 14 games played at home, Venezia is the seventh best home defense in Serie A!
Bologna starts from where it hopes to finish, namely fourth place. The last game was a crushing 5-0 victory over Lazio which meant the 6th consecutive success at the Dall'Ara in the league.
Less explosive but still reliable, the pace of Vincenzo Italiano's team away from home: 3 wins, 6 draws and 1 defeat in the last 10 away games. Considering all competitions, Bologna has lost only 1 of its last 15 matches.
The last matches have clearly said that, Venezia, in this part of the championship is acquiring solidity in defense, compactness, given both by some grafts (Candé above all) and by a better team conduct. Many, the teams that have struggled to break through at the Penzo and the last of them was Napoli. The Bologna that comes to the match on Saturday is undoubtedly charged and brilliant, it is rediscovering important individuals but away from home it goes a gear lower than how it goes at the Dall'Ara. Both teams will have a significant absence. Our hypothesis is that of a more blocked than explosive match and, for this reason, the BetMines algorithm prediction does not see both teams scoring.
Venezia (3-5-2): Radu, Schingtienne, Idzes, Candé; Zerbin, Ellertsson, Perez, Duncan, Zampano; Yeboah, Oristanio. Coach: Di Francesco.
